ok, i just downloaded msn instant messenger off the msn home page, and i already have an email address, so i didnt get the hotmail.
So, i started talking to my friends, and everything i typed came up as "_________(email adress not varified) says:"
and then whatever i typed came up.
Then my friends told me i can change that so it doesnt state my email address, but states my own name.
So i went to the window that said "type your name as you want others to see it" but, it wont let me type anything, you know, the box in which i should be able to type in was grey.
How can i fix that? Oh, and how can i make MSN my home page? It did ask me if i wanted to do that when i was installing MSN, and i did say yes, but it didnt happen. How can I fix that?

attempt uninstalling residing house windows Messenger and reinstalling it. i've got had the comparable situation and ninety% of the time this might fix it. additionally, verify in case you have older variations of residing house windows messenger. this could be conflicting with the extra present day version. in many situations, the working device is composed of that is very own version of residing house windows Messenger. you may attempt to uninstall that one and setting up the extra present day version supplied on the hyperlink decrease than. yet I strongly propose attempt uninstalling/ reinstalling first for which will fix a great form of the errors. desire that enables! in case you have any questions, be satisfied to message me and that i would be satisfied that may additionally assist you.
