Hiya

Recently I think I did something to my WLM. I know it's my fault and I'm trying to find ways to fix it. The problem is, I wanted to put italics in my personal message, so in a chat screen with a friend, I pressed Ctrl + T (to get the italic thing). I use it normally in chat, and wanted to see what it would do in the personal message. Anyways, I put it at the beginning of the personal message (the symbol appeared as a box..) and as soon as I hit Enter, msn just crashed.

Every time I try to log in, it gives me the Error Message 8100030D . Anyways... I've tried deleting it from registry, Un-installing, removing all traces of msn, but it still seems break.

Anything BELOW version 9.0 worAbsolutelytly fine, I'm using 8.5 at the moment, but 9.0 just won't start up anymore.

Anyone got any ideas?

Oh By the way, My sister can log onto her msn, (hotmail account too) so its nothing wrong with the actual program or the server.. *sigh*

Don't want to system restore.

The following additional steps to configure the AVG 8.0 software’s Web Shield component also helps in addressing the error.

1. Open the AVG User Interface.

2. Double-click on the Web Shield component.

3. Switch on the Instant Messaging tab.

4. Uncheck the Instant Messaging protection option.

5. Confirm changes by clicking the Save Changes button.

=►Note: In case the issue persists please try to deactivate the Web Shield component completely. If it’s still not possible to connect to the Windows Live Messenger service and the AVG Firewall component is installed in the AVG program, please check its settings. Try to run the Configuration Wizard to configure the firewall component properly. For illustrated instructions, please refer to this blog post:

Wow. I had that problem before months ago. What I did was uninstall and reinstall the whole Messenger program over again and then sign in. I don't know what the problem was, but it worked for me! If not, I suggest emailing MSN for help. Good luck!
