Why is my msn (windows live messenger) not working?

I just downloaded the newest msn yesterday a beta one. I thought it was really really good. I was going on it talking to people and it was completely fine. Then some mates came round and we went on there accounts. That was fine as well. I went back on mine straight after and it says : "Signing in to windows live messenger Beta failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Error code 84cb000a
I've tried changing my password twice. And it still won't work. But it will let me sign into my hotmail. I downloaded it yesterday and it's still not working. I've always had the newest msn as soon as it came out. I've had my account since may 07. Please help.
Is this happening to any one else.

Delete your Contacts cache folder

If your contact list is empty or incomplete after you upgrade to Windows Live Messenger, the cached contact list may not have updated correctly. Before you can delete your Contacts cache folder, make sure you can view your complete folder list in Windows Explorer.

View your complete folder list

1. On the taskbar, right-click Start, and then select Explore.

2. Click on Tools, and then select Folder Options.

3. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab.

4. In the Advanced Settings list, select Show hidden files and folders, make sure Hide extensions for known file types is not selected, and then click OK.

5. In the Windows Explorer window, click View, select Explorer Bar, and then verify that Folders is checked.

Delete your Contacts cache folder

After changing your Windows Explorer settings:

1. On the taskbar, right-click Start, and then select Explore.

2. In the folder list on the left-hand pane, navigate to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows logon name\Contacts\Your Messenger email address.

3. Delete all of the files within the folder Your Messenger email address.

4. In the folder list on the left-hand pane, navigate to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows logon name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\Your Messenger email address.

5. In the Your Messenger email address folder, delete the real and shadow folders.

6. Close Windows Explorer and try to sign in to Messenger again.

You are trying out a beta!!! You are a tester of new software. New software that is beta is still in its testing stage. You should email the windows live support and tell them about those bugs, Im sure they would appreciate it. If you want to continue chatting online then uninstall the beta messenger and install the newest non-beta msn :)

Are you running xp or vista? If Vista try to right click on the msn messenger icon and go to run as administrator to see if that helps.

HELLO,

Got this from another forum. Seems another person was having the same problem as you. The way he fixed his problem was to delete all items in

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts.

or just delete the whole folder

See if that works.

This is the forum i got the fix from:
