I cant log in either, it keeps loggin out-Ive tried both Trillian and MSN Messenger- and it logs me out straight away after logging in, with the message "Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

I checked the status of Messenger from the Microsoft website, and they claim everything is working ok, so if its not their own fault, then they have most likely have updated the service-so you may need to install the latest version of Messenger to be able to login properly and use it once again. If you are using any other programs other than Messenger then they will most likely have to be updated by their creators as well in order to be used once again.

This is the first day I have come across the above message, everything worked fine yesterday-and ive been connecting using an old 2004 version of Messenger on my pc with a Sony Ericsson K800 mobile phone as the modem. Who knows, perhaps it will misteriously all start working again tomorrow. I cant update my pc or Messenger since the phone isnt really up to the job-so I think youll probably have better luck than me >:) lol

update:- its working! it was most likely microsoft temporarily having servers down, but its finally connecting at last.. so i would say to simply give it time, and everything should be back to normal after a few hrs

sometimes a corruption of one or more of your host files will cause this also...the quickest and easiest way to repair is to uninstall Windows Live Messenger via add and remove programs, and reinstall it again.

You have no internet connection/your ID or password is incorrect/somebody is already on your account/your account has been deleted/MSN is getting daily stuff added/somebody has been on your account AND changed your password/You have too many IDs.

It could ONLY be one of these options.

Hmm, have you downloaded the newest version of MSN? because if you have that msn is full of problems at the moment, it's ok for some people but unstable for most, if so i'd suggest getting the old version back.

If not, maybe it won't sign you IN because you don't have the newest version of MSN, i had to get the new version of it, but it said "Please update, then you will be able to log into msn" or something along them lines,

If it's none of that then i'd suggest uninstalling the program then reinstalling.
