I been trying to use for 2 months and it is so difficult to do anything. 2-3 times as many clicks to do something. it seems to be one way and that's it. setting are all over the place with different(stupid) names. internet alaways opens under explorer, oops, FILEexplorer. common dialog boxes for saving a file is retarded. can't just click through, need to scroll in 2 part window. files can't be where I want them they need to be sorted somehow; rename a file and double click it and "TA DA!" it's gone. now I have to go looking for it because it's sorted immediately. sort by "status" is listed twice under "choose columns." click the personalize button and I can change the wallpaper, woopty do! O, I can change the color of my top window. "Search" for folder sends me to the net, for a file I can choose what "KIND". What size is it? HUGE, or GIGANTIC. defender runs every time i'm idle, system fans a cranking. touch a button to shut it up and it restarts after a few minutes. this is power efficient? it's not any faster than XP. nor does it boot any faster than XP. but then, on XP it wasn't starting 50 processes. Microsoft doesn't seem to know if they want to call it a process or a task, a program or a app. isn't APP a name that APPLE created? Who designed this crap? why chage something if there is nothing wrong with it. Xp was the longest running system because it worked. It's amazing how Microst got it just right {XP} and then just threw it all away for some stupid social media sht

If you like the start menu install Clasic Shell, it can also make some other thing old-fashioned.

I have been using Windows 8 and 8.1 since their inception and I don't have a fraction of the problems you do.

First of all Windows 8+ is a sophisticated operating system. It is 2x as powerful as XP was and it does work!

It also helps to know what you are doing! You may check out your local community library, community colleges offering basic courses on Windows 8+

You couldn't pay me enough to go back to using WIndows XP.

BTW you control what programs run in the background and what doesn't. Just like XP there is a boot configuration program you can go into (msconfig) and turn off all the programs that get started on bootup you don't want to run on startup. You can also control what Windows Defender does!

And by the way my Windows 8.1 boots 3x faster than my Windows XP Pro did!

Next to even Windows 7 it's old, clunky, and just flat out buggy

You blame your PC running slow and your bootup time being slow on Windows 8.1 but its not just your operating system that's responsible for your bootup timing, system running slow overall. You can most likely blame much of it on the cheap hardware you're probably running it on!
